Meet Morah Limor

Limor

By: Tziyona Gheblikian (10th grade)

Welcome back to the Teacher’s Corner! This week, the Warrior Word sat down with Morah Limor. Get to know her as she talks about her time in the IDF, her job as a Hebrew language teacher and a health coach, and some of her hobbies.

Tziyona Gheblikian: Where were you born and raised?

Morah Limor: I was born in Haifa, Israel, and I was raised there.

TG: Did you serve in the IDF? If so, what was it like?

ML: Yes, it was a great experience. I was in the Navy and managed the office of the base chief. I made a lot of friends and learned a lot. It was a great time in my life.

TG: That’s amazing! And do you visit Israel frequently?

ML: Yes, I visit every year.

TG: Wow, how long have you lived in Florida for?

ML: Fourteen years.

TG: What made you choose to move here?

ML: My sister has lived here for more than 30 years, and she loves it, so we came to visit. We also had some business opportunities and thought that we’d stay here for a while.

TG: What drove you to become a Hebrew teacher?

ML: I was teaching in Israel, and I loved it. I like working with kids, and I think it’s a great experience to teach high school students. The communication with the kids is what makes me come to school everyday, and I like the Hebrew language.

TG: Do you have any other professions on the side?

ML: Yes, I’m a health coach, and I enjoy it. I also help students sometimes and work with a lot of teenagers.

TG: What’s the most interesting thing you do as a health coach?

ML: Teaching families and teenagers how to transfer from junk food to healthier food. I don’t think they have to suffer in order to eat healthy. I think we should eat similarly to how we eat everyday, but with more nutritious food. This is what I believe in.

TG: What are some of your hobbies?

ML: I like to exercise: cycling, running, or paddle boarding.

TG: Do you play any instruments?

ML: No, but it is my dream to play the piano.
