Humans of RASG

Humans of RASG, similar to Humans of New York, is a verbal snapshot of the people who make up our high school. Each human is asked to speak about themselves at length, and their monologue is recorded and transcribed verbatim. In order to keep it real, nothing is left out.

Luchiano Fernandez (12th Grade)

My name is Luchiano, and I’m an avid fan of basketball, and I just came back to Hebrew Academy for my senior year. I came back because this is the only school where I feel that everyone is so tight and it’s a beautiful community. I can fully daven and really experience my senior year as I want. Another fact about me is that I am very very impatient. For example, when I go to the shoe store I just buy the shoe, I don’t even try it on. This led to me having four ingrown toenails on one toe. This happens when I play basketball, and I play basketball everyday because I love it, so I end squishing my toe in my nail and then I get injured. I really am excited to play basketball this year, I never played on varsity before, and the fact that I get to go on a trip to LA or New York with my friends will be an amazing experience. I don’t plan on taking basketball seriously when I’m older, but I do hope on possibly working in sports management when I’m older. I started playing basketball when I was nine years-old because all my friends in public school would play so I started playing to not feel left out. I originally played soccer, I grew up with it due to my Hispanic lineage. I am blessed to play basketball. I really was meant to play basketball. God gave me height for a reason!
