Light the Path Gala 2024

On Sunday, March 3rd, Hebrew Academy had its annual “Light the Path” gala for the parents, staff, and community of Hebrew Academy. Hebrew Academy hosted the gala as a fundraising opportunity for the school.

The gala began with everyone conversing and gathering in the new high school/middle school cafeteria. There were drinks and appetizers that everybody enjoyed as they spoke with their friends. Everyone was then instructed to head to the gym.

The ceremony in the gym started off with the national anthem and Hatikva followed by some amazing speakers. They then moved on to the prayers for the soldiers and the hostages. There was a special speech from the head of school, Dr Stein.

After Dr. Stein spoke, the guests were treated to a delicious dinner followed by a speech from the gala co-chairpeople Nicole Kavana and Yael Kohn. It was then followed by a speech from Jean Kim Lehmann, president of the Hebrew Academy board.

After the speeches, they lit the path to honor the Schottenstein family with the Leadership Award, Elaine Brauner Dobin Z”L with the Legacy Tribute, and Morah Lisi Wolfson with the Education Award. They presented kind and appreciative videos about each honoree.

Rabbi Jack then spoke, after which the auction began. The parents and faculty of HA were very generous in their donations and every penny was greatly appreciated.

The event concluded with dessert and an exceptional Yaakov Shwekey concert. Overall, it was a beautiful event that helped bring together the community and the parents of Hebrew Academy.
