Alexa Cohen and Jack Benveniste-Plitt sat down to talk with Hebrew Academy High School English teacher Mrs. Berman. Mrs. Berman is the director of Hebrew Academy’s upcoming play “The Odd Couple.”
A/J: What topic is your favorite to teach?
SB: Definitely Shakespeare!
A/J: What is your favorite color?
SB: Green.
A/J: Favorite book(s)?
SB: My go-to is To Kill a Mockingbird and I love Harry Potter.
A/J: If you had to be any animal, which would it be?
SB: A wild horse.
A/J: How many years have you worked at Hebrew Academy for?
SB: Three years.
A/J: Who is your hero/role model?
SB: My grandmother. She taught me kindness and acceptance–two extremely crucial qualities.
A/J: Describe yourself using up to 5 words.
SB: This is a tough one! I’d have to go with kind, smart, silly, and perceptive.
A/J: What is your favorite animal?
SB: Dogs.
A/J: What is your favorite dessert?
SB: Warm chocolate cake with ice cream.
A/J: What is your biggest pet peeve?
SB: Hahaha I have a lot. People who eat and breathe loudly, and people who drive slow in the fast lane.
A/J: What city would you want to vacation in?
SB: Sydney. I’ve never been and I’ve always wanted to go to Australia.
A/J: Why did you decide to be a teacher?
SB: I love the creativity that is needed to be a teacher. I also come from a long line of teachers, so its kind of in my blood.
