In this week’s Parsha, Parshat Vayakhel-Pekudei, Moshe gathers the Jewish people to inform them of the new commandment that HaShem has bestowed upon them: to donate any metals, materials, fabrics, spices, or stones for the Mishkan
The people were so excited to help that they brought an excess of donations for the Mishkan in addition to their work on the curtains, coverings, walls, vessels, and other accessories necessary for the Mishkan. This week’s parsha describes the materials and work for the Mishkan.
Once the donations and work ended, a cloud appeared over the Mishkan signaling that HaShem was watching over His people.
From this we learn the importance of honoring HaShem and promoting Judaism. The Jewish people brought all of the accessories and materials they had, along with their work, to make the Mishkan as beautiful as they could. We must always try to do our best in order to gain favor and support from HaShem.
Shabbat Shalom!
