Humans of RASG, similar to Humans of New York, is a verbal snapshot of the people who make up our high school. Each human is asked to speak about themselves at length, and their monologue is recorded and transcribed verbatim. In order to keep it real, nothing is omitted. This week, the Warrior Word interviewed Jacob Assaraf (12th). Get to know Jacob as he discusses his love for sports and his plans for summer, yeshiva, and college.
"Hi, my name is Jacob Assaraf, and I'm a senior at Hebrew Academy. I've been going here since fourth grade. I have three younger sisters, two of whom also attend Hebrew Academy. I was born in New York, then lived in LA for five years, and have been in Miami for the past eight or nine years. One of my favorite teachers is definitely Dr. Prechter; he's the GOAT. My favorite class varies from year to year. I play basketball, football, and sometimes tennis. This year, I played varsity basketball and football. Next year, I'll be attending Torat Shraga in Yerushalayim, and then I'll be going to Yeshiva University. I'm undecided about what I want to do when I'm older. For the last six summers I've been going to Camp Morasha. Two years ago I went on Sulam; last year, I worked as a counselor at Morasha, and this year, I'll be a counselor there again—I’m super excited. My favorite thing about Hebrew Academy is the kids. I've made my best friends here and having good friends is super important."
