Warriors Start Undefeated

Sports season has officially begun, starting with the girls varsity volleyball and boys varsity flag football season. For the past three weeks, both teams have rigorously practiced and competed, and they currently stand undefeated with high hopes for the rest of the year.

The boys football team has been on an absolute tear, dominating their first three games and winning by at least three touchdowns against Sheridan Hills Christian, Hillel, and Donna Klein, Although the team lost the seniors who graduated last year, the Warriors maintained three of their best players while adding key players such as Zalman Wuensch, Zalman Shagalov, Refael Nahon, and Emanuel Pinkhasov.

“We have an amazing team on both sides of the ball, backed by a great coach, and I have no doubt we can go undefeated,” said breakout star Emanuel “Pinky” Pinkhasov (12th). “Also, playing on the team is some of the most fun I've had during high school."

The real test will be the matchup against Posnack on Monday. Despite last year's defeat in the championship game to Posnack, the Warriors feel confident about their upcoming match, believing it will be a championship preview with the Warriors as favorites. The Warriors are putting the league on notice with their great start and will not settle for anything less than a championship!

In addition to boys football, the girls volleyball team is also starting their season undefeated. They are currently 5-0, having beaten Horeb Christian, Hillel, Baptist First, Greater Miami Academy, and The South Florida Heat. With this strong start, the team anticipates a successful season.

“Our team is truly amazing, and Coach Steven has done a great job leading us throughout the season,” says Co-Captain Ariela Sragowicz (12th).

The senior athletes playing volleyball for their final year of school know this year will be bittersweet, but they hope to end it on a high note.

“We have come a long way since the beginning of my high school career,” says senior and Co-Captain, Shoshy Stein (12th), “I can’t wait for the rest of the season, especially since it is my last one!"

The Warrior Word wishes good luck to both teams as they play through the season. Go Warriors!
