Humans of RASG, similar to Humans of New York, is a verbal snapshot of the people who make up our high school. Each human is asked to speak about themselves at length, and their monologue is recorded and transcribed verbatim. In order to keep it real, nothing is left out.
“Hi my name is Emanuel Pinkhasov, but my friends call me Pinny. I am from Miami Beach. I am 14 years old. I have been at Hebrew Academy for quite the time. I was here in Pre-K, and I left in Kindergarten and First, and then came back in Second. I like how the classes are spread out here in the high school, and not on one floor or anything. My favorite class is math. I like it the most because Mr. Innes is a very good teacher and he is really good at giving advice when you get something wrong and makes sure you won’t make that mistake again. I like to play basketball and play 2K on my Playstation. I also really like the Miami Heat. They are my favorite sports team. I have liked them since I was like 3 and went to my first game. I have really liked them through everything since then, all the ups and downs. I like Bam Adebayo the most because we play the same position, Center. In High School, I am really looking forward to all the extra-curricular activities we can do, like AIPAC or Entrepreneurship. I have chosen to be in the Environmental club. I chose this because I care about the environment and I want my kids to grow up in the same one as me, and not a bad one, with everything melting and getting ruined. My favorite color is Black or Red. I’m still undecided on what I want to do when I grow up, but I could see myself being some sort of doctor. I am very happy being here in this school, and look forward to the next four years.”
