Humans of RASG, similar to Humans of New York, is a verbal snapshot of the people who make up our high school. Each human is asked to speak about themselves at length, and their monologue is recorded and transcribed verbatim. In order to keep it real, nothing is omitted. This week, the Warrior Word interviewed Yosef Woznica (11th). Get to know Yosef as he discusses his transition to Hebrew Academy and growing up in South Africa.
“Hi, my name is Yosef Woznica. I am in 11th grade in Hebrew Academy. This is my first year at Hebrew Academy. I moved to Miami about two months ago. I grew up in South Africa, but we moved to New York when my mom got remarried. I have four siblings including myself. My oldest siblings are both in their year in Israel and my younger sister is in school here in 8th grade. I also have three step-siblings whom I'm very close to. So far my experience at Hebrew Academy has been amazing. The building is so nice, the kids have all been very friendly, and I really like the teachers. Currently, I’m thinking about going to college at YU, hopefully getting into the honors program, and majoring in finance or business. I am currently studying for the SATs which have been pretty terrible. I really enjoy my history class. I'm taking AP US History and AP Lang, so work is sometimes a struggle, but I do believe that I will get a lot out of taking them. About a year ago I started running and I really enjoy it. I am a captain on the cross-country team here and I love it. As well as running, I started to learn the piano six months ago and I've been practicing since. I also play soccer and I was on a travel soccer team in Great Neck where I used to live. This past summer I was working as a lifeguard at a bungalow colony in upstate New York. In my free time, I really enjoy reading, watching Netflix, and spending time with my family.”
